Corrinne Helen Strandell, 86 years, of West Allis, died Tuesday February 17, 2026 in Wauwatosa.
She was born July 3, 1939 in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of the late Kermit Wilbur and Alberta Florence (Madden) Strandell. She graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1957 before entering Columbia Nursing College in Milwaukee. She then went on to get her BSN from Marquette University, and a master’s degree from UW-Madison. She then went on to receive her PhD from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
She taught for several years at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA and at DePaul University in Chicago, IL. She spent her later working years as a home health care nurse and authored a book on home health care called "Client Studies in Home Health Care Nursing."
Corrinne had been a member of the Friends Church in Sturgeon Bay.
Surviving family includes her brother, Darwin (Katherine) Strandell of Racine; three half siblings, Kathy Spude, Karen Fontaine, and Kevin Strandell; nieces and nephews; as well as friends and neighbors including Gregg Everts and Monica Schuster, who were a great help to her in her later years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and two sisters, Patricia Wiskerchen and Mariam Bacon.
Committal prayers will take place at Huehns Funeral Home at 11:00 am. Corrinne will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery immediately following.
