Roger C. Bacon, 90 years, of Sturgeon Bay, died Wednesday evening, February 25, 2026 at Bay View Senior Care in Sturgeon Bay with his daughter at his side.
He was born September 15, 1935 in Green Bay, the son of the late Bernard Antoinette (Mongin) Bacon. Roger graduated from high school in 1953 before serving with the United States Marines from 1953 to 1956 as an aircraft mechanic. After discharge, he attended Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, OK. He was a member of the George W. Goetz Forestville American Legion Post 372.
Roger worked as an aircraft mechanic working at North Central Airlines in Minneapolis, Midway Airport in Chicago and Austin Straubel Airport. He retired as a mechanic in 1965 before embarking on a sales position with Mongin Insurance Co in Green Bay retiring there in 1996.
On November 11, 1963 he married Kathryn Grace Pickert in Desplains, IL. She preceded him in death on January 14, 2018.
Surviving family include his two children, Toni (Tod) Zimmerman of Brussels, Roger (Sally) Bacon of Manchester, NJ; and two grandsons, Matt (Jeovanna) Bacon of Oakland, CA, and Dr. Nick (fiancé, Jessica) Bacon of St. Louis, MO.
Preceding him in death is his sister, Karen Bacon.
Private family services with military honors will be held.
He will be laid to rest at St. Frances Xavier Catholic Cemetery, Brussels.
